Construction Progress 2-20-13

Been sometime since my last blog but we have had a few weeks of not the greatest weather.  Even with a few days missed because of snow and the ground just being saturated progress is still being made.  As of today all of the back 9 greens are completely sodded except half the putting green and #12.  Those 2 will be sodded and complete by the end of next week.  Last week saw the beginning of installing the new drainage and catch basins at the beginning of #11.

Below is work from a couple weeks ago installing the mix in #14 green.

This was also from a couple weeks ago during the installation of the drainage and gravel layer in the putting green.

This was from last week on the 2nd day of work installing the new pipe and catch basins.  It was an absolute muddy mess in the low spot between the tee and fairway on #11 where they were working.  Even with the terrible conditions our contractor was able to push through and still get this section of the hole complete.  Now we are just waiting on some dry weather so they can work the soil around and put the final grade on it.

Today they are using this bulldozer to push that huge pile of soil they had been stockpiling, while digging out the greens, toward the fairway.  This soil will help raise the fairway and to create the slopes and grades that they need for the surface water to move into the catch basins that are being installed.

Also today they are installing the drainage in #12 green and the gravel layer.  This is the final green that needs to be rebuilt.  As I said this should be completed and sodded by the end of next week.
